Job Description
Rockhouse Hotel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Private Chef Assistant to join our culinary team on a part-time basis. Key Responsibilities
- Assist private chefs with daily food preparation, including washing, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Support the cooking process by following recipes and instructions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, workstations, and equipment.
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of food items to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Assist with plating and presentation of dishes, adhering to the chef's specifications.
- Manage inventory of basic pantry items and communicate stock needs to the chef.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down private dining events and experiences.
- Learn and adapt to diverse culinary techniques and guest dietary requirements.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a kitchen or culinary environment (e.g., as a kitchen helper, line cook, or culinary student).
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Strong understanding and adherence to food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
