Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Full-Time Recreation Coordinator to join our vibrant team in Sandstone, Fishers. This pivotal role involves leading the charge in developing, implementing, and overseeing a diverse range of recreational programs and activities designed to enrich the lives of our community members across all age groups and interests. From youth sports leagues and senior wellness initiatives to community events and arts & crafts workshops, you will be instrumental in fostering a sense of belonging and promoting active, healthy lifestyles.

As a Recreation Coordinator, you will be the heart of our program offerings, managing the entire lifecycle of events from conceptualization and planning to execution and post-event evaluation. This includes meticulous scheduling, resource allocation, volunteer management, and ensuring all activities adhere to safety standards and organizational policies. You will work closely with community stakeholders, local organizations, and our dedicated team to identify community needs, solicit feedback, and continuously adapt our programs to remain relevant and engaging. This role requires a blend of creativity, organizational prowess, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for recreation and community development. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, promote, and implement a wide array of recreational programs and special events for diverse age groups and interests.
  • Coordinate facilities, equipment, and staffing schedules for all recreational activities.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise part-time staff and volunteers, providing ongoing support and performance feedback.
  • Manage program budgets, process registrations, collect fees, and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure all programs and facilities comply with safety regulations and organizational policies.
  • Develop and distribute promotional materials, including flyers, social media updates, and website content.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through participant surveys and feedback, making data-driven improvements.
  • Foster strong relationships with community members, local businesses, and partner organizations.
  • Address participant inquiries, concerns, and emergencies promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with facility maintenance and setup/teardown for events as needed.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Sports Administration, Education, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in recreation program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with recreation management software.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as program needs dictate.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification.
  • Experience with volunteer coordination and training.
  • Knowledge of local community resources and demographics in Fishers, IN.
