Career.zycto is actively seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Entry Level Drone Operator to join our growing team in Masson-Angers, Gatineau. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies and Transport Canada regulations under supervision.
  • Assist in pre-flight planning, including site assessments, weather checks, and flight path programming.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks of drone equipment and payloads.
  • Execute data collection missions to gather imagery, video, and other sensor data as per project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate flight logs, equipment maintenance records, and project documentation.
  • Assist with basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance of drone hardware and software.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and best practices during operations.
  • Support data transfer, storage, and preliminary quality checks of collected aerial data.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance drone piloting and data acquisition skills.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent) and access to reliable transportation
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software quickly
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of drones or remote-controlled aircraft
  • Completion of a drone piloting course or any aviation-related training
  • Familiarity with GIS software or mapping applications
  • Basic understanding of photography or videography principles
  • RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System) Basic or Advanced Operations Certificate from Transport Canada (willingness to obtain is essential)
