Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior planners with research, data collection, and analysis for various planning projects and studies.
- Review minor development proposals, zoning applications, and permit requests for compliance with local ordinances and comprehensive plans.
- Prepare clear and concise reports, presentations, and maps using GIS and other relevant software.
- Support public engagement efforts by assisting in the preparation of meeting materials and attending public hearings or community workshops.
- Maintain and update planning documents, databases, and geographic information systems (GIS) data.
- Conduct site visits and field investigations to gather information relevant to planning applications and projects.
- Respond to inquiries from the public, developers, and other agencies regarding planning regulations and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders on interdisciplinary projects.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, City Planning, Regional Planning, Geography, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
