As an Agricultural Equipment Operator, you will be an integral part of our team, responsible for learning to safely and efficiently operate a variety of equipment used in land management, cultivation, and other related activities. While direct ‘farming’ in the traditional sense might be limited in Yellowknife, our operations may involve specialized land preparation, community garden support, research projects, or environmental reclamation efforts that require similar machinery and skills. You will be trained on everything from pre-operation checks and routine maintenance to effective operation techniques, safety protocols, and proper equipment handling.

Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all provided training programs for equipment operation and safety procedures.
- Learn to conduct daily pre-operation inspections and basic maintenance checks on agricultural equipment.
- Under supervision, operate various types of agricultural equipment (e.g., tractors, loaders, tillers, mowers) safely and efficiently.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and others.
- Assist with manual labour tasks as required, supporting overall site operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure equipment is properly stored.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding operational status and any issues.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
- Show a proactive attitude towards learning new skills and taking on new responsibilities.
Required Skills
- No prior experience in equipment operation required – comprehensive training provided.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
