Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior sound engineers in the setup, calibration, and operation of audio equipment for live events, studio recordings, and post-production projects.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of audio gear, including microphones, mixers, speakers, amplifiers, and digital audio workstations (DAWs).
  • Support sound checks and rehearsals, ensuring optimal audio levels and clarity.
  • Aid in the recording, editing, mixing, and mastering of audio content under supervision.
  • Contribute to the organization and inventory management of audio equipment and cables.
  • Learn and apply best practices for signal flow, gain staging, and acoustic treatment.
  • Collaborate effectively with production teams, artists, and clients to achieve desired audio outcomes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Actively participate in training sessions and seek opportunities for continuous professional development in audio engineering.
  • Document audio configurations, settings, and procedures for future reference.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of audio principles, acoustics, and signal flow.
  • Familiarity with common audio equipment (microphones, mixers, speakers).
  • Proficiency with at least one Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) like Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, or similar.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by projects.
  • Physical ability to lift and move audio equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
