Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and electrical codes (e.g., BS 7671 18th Edition).
- Plan layouts and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Work with blueprints and technical diagrams to ensure accurate installations.
- Provide expert advice and solutions to clients regarding electrical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
- Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople and team members on site.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a qualified Electrician.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and components.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to electrical codes and regulations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driving license.
- Professional English proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking).
Preferred Qualifications
- Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent from home country, demonstrably transferable to UK standards).
