Career.zycto is on the lookout for a talented and dedicated AWS Engineer to join our dynamic team in Putney, London. This is a pivotal role for an English-speaking professional passionate about architecting, implementing, and managing highly scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructures on Amazon Web Services. As an AWS Engineer, you will play a crucial part in the entire lifecycle of our cloud infrastructure. From conceptual design to deployment and ongoing maintenance, your expertise will ensure that our systems are not only robust and performant but also cost-effective and compliant with industry best practices. Your day-to-day will involve designing and implementing AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, and IAM, always with an eye towards efficiency and scalability. You’ll troubleshoot complex issues, perform performance tuning, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our cloud environment. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Automate deployment, scaling, and management of cloud resources using CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal uptime and cost efficiency.
- Implement and enforce security best practices across all AWS environments.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to define and implement cloud-native solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and support for cloud-related initiatives.
- Document system architectures, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotations as needed to support critical systems.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with core AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53).
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline).
- Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and shell scripting (Bash).
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Go).
- Deep understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, Load Balancing).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional).
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL).
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Understanding of microservices architecture.
