Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize preventative and predictive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability.
- Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and automation system failures and implement effective corrective actions.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment breakdowns and propose long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Manage maintenance projects from inception to completion, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budget adherence.
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with production, operations, and engineering teams to identify and resolve operational issues proactively.
- Oversee the performance of maintenance technicians and external contractors, providing technical guidance and support.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections using a CMMS.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and equipment upgrades to enhance efficiency, safety, and reliability.
- Participate in the commissioning and start-up of new equipment and facility expansions.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, PLCs (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens), VFDs, and control logic.
- Proficiency in mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating equipment, and power transmission.
- Demonstrated experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety practices and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Quebec or eligibility.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, thermography, or oil analysis.
- Project management experience, particularly in capital equipment upgrades or facility expansion projects.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is considered a significant asset in Quebec.
