Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a talented and driven Landscape Architect to join our award-winning team in London. As a Landscape Architect with Career.zycto, you will be instrumental in the conceptualization, design, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from large-scale urban regeneration schemes and public parks to commercial developments, educational campuses, and high-end residential landscapes. You will play a pivotal role from the initial client brief through feasibility studies, detailed design, and project completion, ensuring designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional, ecologically sound, and resilient. Our projects often involve complex challenges, requiring innovative solutions that integrate sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), biodiversity enhancements, climate-resilient planting strategies, and robust community engagement principles. We are looking for someone passionate about creating inspiring outdoor environments that respond sensitively to context, culture, and climate. You will be expected to produce high-quality design work, including master plans, concept sketches, technical drawings, specifications, and planting plans, utilizing industry-standard software. Furthermore, you will actively contribute to design reviews, client presentations, and stakeholder consultations, effectively communicating design intent and value. Collaboration is key at Career.zycto; you will work closely with architects, urban planners, environmental consultants, civil engineers, and other specialists, fostering an an integrated design approach from project inception. Key Responsibilities
- Lead design conceptualization from initial brief to detailed design phases.
- Produce high-quality landscape master plans, concept designs, and technical drawings using CAD and relevant software.
- Develop planting plans and material specifications appropriate for urban environments and sustainable goals.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to clients, stakeholders, and planning authorities.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams (architects, urban planners, engineers, environmental consultants).
- Conduct site analyses, surveys, and assessments to inform design decisions.
- Ensure designs comply with local planning regulations, British Standards, and best practices in sustainable design.
- Manage project timelines and budgets, contributing to project profitability.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to the overall design culture of the studio.
- Stay abreast of current trends, technologies, and innovations in landscape architecture and urban ecology.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in landscape architectural design and delivery.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Strong freehand sketching and graphic communication skills.
- Excellent understanding of hard and soft landscape materials, construction techniques, and planting design.
- Knowledge of UK planning policy and environmental legislation related to landscape.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- A comprehensive portfolio demonstrating design capability and technical expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
