Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments for individuals, couples, and families.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing various therapeutic modalities.
- Facilitate individual, couple, and family therapy sessions, focusing on relational dynamics.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated and holistic client care.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, referring to external resources when appropriate.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision and professional development activities.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards set by relevant regulatory bodies.
- Educate clients and their families on mental health issues and coping strategies.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) or equivalent professional body.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
- Demonstrated experience in individual, couple, and family therapy.
- Strong understanding and application of various therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, EFT, systemic therapy).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation and record-keeping.
- Commitment to cultural competency and anti-oppressive practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with diverse populations and presenting issues.
- Specialized training or certification in specific areas (e.g., trauma-informed care, Gottman Method).
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to speak a second language relevant to the local community.
