Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain database servers and systems, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance tuning strategies.
  • Develop, implement, and test database backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
  • Manage database security, including user access, roles, and permissions, in compliance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform routine database maintenance tasks such as indexing, archiving, and data migration.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database schemas and queries.
  • Provide expert advice and support for database-related projects and initiatives.
  • Plan and execute database capacity planning and upgrades.
  • Document database configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL administration.
  • Strong understanding of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Experience with database backup, recovery, and replication strategies.
  • Solid knowledge of database security principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with operating systems like Linux and Windows Server.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).
