Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, VPNs, wireless).
  • Configure and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Implement and manage network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored network solutions.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for critical network incident response and resolution.
  • Evaluate new network technologies and recommend solutions to improve existing infrastructure.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Cisco and Juniper networking equipment and operating systems (IOS, Junos).
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies.
  • Experience with firewall configuration and management (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex network issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIP.
  • Experience with cloud networking platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
  • Prior experience working in remote or northern environments.
  • Understanding of Canadian immigration pathways for skilled workers.
