Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, VPNs, wireless).
- Configure and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Implement and manage network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored network solutions.
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical network incident response and resolution.
- Evaluate new network technologies and recommend solutions to improve existing infrastructure.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Cisco and Juniper networking equipment and operating systems (IOS, Junos).
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies.
- Experience with firewall configuration and management (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA).
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex network issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIP.
- Experience with cloud networking platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Prior experience working in remote or northern environments.
- Understanding of Canadian immigration pathways for skilled workers.
