Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Remote Sensing Analyst to join our innovative, fully remote team. As a crucial member of our geospatial division, you will play a pivotal role in transforming raw satellite, aerial, and drone imagery into actionable intelligence that drives informed decisions across various sectors, including environmental conservation, urban planning, and resource management. In this remote role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of remote sensing projects, from data acquisition and preprocessing to advanced analysis, interpretation, and visualization. You will work with diverse datasets, applying advanced algorithms and techniques to extract features, classify land cover, detect changes, and model environmental phenomena. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing robust methodologies, validating results, and communicating complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Process and analyze satellite, aerial, and drone imagery using a variety of remote sensing software and programming languages.
  • Develop and apply advanced image processing algorithms for feature extraction, land cover classification, change detection, and environmental monitoring.
  • Perform radiometric and atmospheric corrections, orthorectification, and mosaic creation to ensure data quality and accuracy.
  • Interpret remote sensing data to identify patterns, anomalies, and critical information relevant to project objectives.
  • Integrate remote sensing outputs with GIS data for comprehensive spatial analysis and mapping.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automated workflows for efficient data processing and analysis.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, maps, and presentations to communicate findings to clients and internal teams.
  • Stay current with emerging remote sensing technologies, methodologies, and software.
  • Collaborate effectively with a remote team to achieve project goals and deliverables.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and adherence to best practices in all remote sensing operations.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in remote sensing software (e.g., ENVI, ERDAS Imagine, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS).
  • Strong programming skills in Python (with libraries like GDAL, Rasterio, NumPy, SciPy, Pandas).
  • Experience with various remote sensing data sources (e.g., optical, SAR, LiDAR).
  • Solid understanding of photogrammetry and image processing techniques.
  • Experience with cloud-based geospatial platforms (e.g., Google Earth Engine, AWS, Azure geospatial services).
  • Demonstrated ability to perform spatial analysis and manipulate geospatial data.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Remote Sensing, Geomatics, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with machine learning or deep learning applied to remote sensing data.
  • Knowledge of UAV/drone data acquisition and processing workflows.
  • Familiarity with open-source geospatial tools and libraries.
