Key Responsibilities

  • Manage air freight shipments from origin to destination, including booking, scheduling, and tracking.
  • Prepare and process all necessary documentation, such as Air Waybills, customs declarations, and other shipping manifests.
  • Liaise effectively with airlines, customs brokers, warehouses, and overseas agents to ensure seamless freight movement.
  • Provide accurate and timely updates to clients regarding their shipment status, addressing any inquiries or issues promptly.
  • Ensure full compliance with all international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and company policies.
  • Negotiate rates with carriers and optimise routes to achieve cost-effective and efficient solutions for clients.
  • Handle cargo claims and discrepancies with a professional and problem-solving approach.
  • Maintain precise records and utilise freight management software for data entry and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in air freight operations or freight forwarding.
  • Proficiency in air cargo documentation and international shipping procedures.
  • Strong understanding of customs regulations and import/export processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Competency in using freight management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Eligible to work in the UK (e.g., relevant visa or immigration status).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in additional languages relevant to international trade.
  • Certification in dangerous goods handling (IATA DGR).
  • Experience with specific freight forwarding systems (e.g., CargoWise One).
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
