As an Architect, you will be instrumental in leading projects from their initial conceptualization through to successful completion. You will be responsible for crafting innovative and functional designs, managing project teams, and ensuring that all architectural plans adhere to the highest standards of quality, safety, and local building codes. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage architectural projects from pre-design through construction administration, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Develop innovative design concepts, prepare comprehensive architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents using advanced software.
- Collaborate effectively with clients, consultants (structural, mechanical, electrical), contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, zoning bylaws, and accessibility standards.
- Conduct site visits, review construction progress, and provide solutions to design and construction challenges.
- Mentor junior architectural staff, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Participate in client presentations, project meetings, and business development initiatives.
- Contribute to the firm’s ongoing commitment to sustainable design practices and innovative solutions.
Required Skills
- Registered Architect (or eligible for registration) in home country, with eligibility for registration in British Columbia (AIBC).
- Minimum of 5 years of post-licensure experience in a professional architectural practice.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and materials.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven project management and leadership abilities.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design excellence and technical proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Architecture.
- LEED AP or other sustainable design accreditations.
- Experience with Canadian building codes and climate-specific design.
- Prior experience working on diverse project types (residential, commercial, institutional).
