Key Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications, ensuring patient safety and adherence to all regulatory standards.
- Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients, including proper usage, potential side effects, and storage.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient therapy and outcomes.
- Conduct medication reviews and provide recommendations for drug therapy adjustments as needed.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage of pharmaceutical products.
- Oversee and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Participate in community health programs and initiatives, offering health screenings and vaccination services.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmaceutical advancements, regulations, and best practices.
- Handle patient inquiries and resolve medication-related issues with professionalism and empathy.
- Ensure compliance with all provincial and federal pharmacy laws and professional standards.
Required Skills
- Licensed Pharmacist in British Columbia (or eligible for licensure)
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSc.Pharm)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong clinical knowledge and medication management expertise
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in pharmacy dispensing software and basic computer applications
- Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Pharmacist, preferably in a community pharmacy setting.
- Additional certifications in advanced pharmacy practice (e.g., injection certification, chronic disease management).
- Experience with pharmacy management systems like Kroll, PharmaClik Rx, or similar.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and supervisory experience.
- Fluency in additional languages is an asset.
