Key Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols and best practices.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety.
- Accurately interpret ultrasound findings and generate preliminary reports for referring clinicians.
- Provide clear, compassionate communication and care to patients throughout their examination.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous professional development activities.
Required Skills
- Accredited qualification in Diagnostic Ultrasound/Sonography.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK.
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification clinical experience as a Sonographer.
- Proficiency in performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations (e.g., abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, vascular).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialist expertise in areas such as musculoskeletal, cardiac, or advanced obstetric ultrasound.
- Postgraduate diploma or master's degree in medical ultrasound.
- Experience with a variety of ultrasound systems and reporting software.
