As a Landscaping Gardener, you will be instrumental in all facets of landscape management, from initial design implementation to ongoing maintenance. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive garden maintenance, including weeding, mulching, pruning, trimming hedges, and cultivating soil.
- Plant flowers, shrubs, trees, and other ornamental plants according to landscape designs and client specifications.
- Operate and maintain a variety of landscaping equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Monitor plant health, identify pests and diseases, and apply appropriate treatments to maintain vibrant and healthy flora.
- Install and repair irrigation systems, ensuring efficient water usage and proper hydration for all plant life.
- Prepare and maintain garden beds, lawns, and other landscaped areas, including fertilization, aeration, and pest control.
- Assist in landscape design implementation, including laying out new garden beds, pathways, and hardscape features.
- Provide excellent client service, communicate effectively with property owners regarding their landscaping needs, and offer professional advice.
- Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of all work sites, disposing of green waste responsibly and maintaining an organized workspace.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company policies while performing all duties.
- Contribute to a positive team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve project goals and maintain high standards of quality.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in landscape gardening or horticulture
- Strong knowledge of plant care, common diseases, and pest control
- Ability to operate and maintain landscaping machinery and tools safely
- Physical stamina and ability to perform demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Horticultural certificate or relevant vocational training
- Valid Kenyan driving license with a clean record
