Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Merchandiser to join our client’s dynamic retail team in West Pokot County, Kenya. This pivotal role involves optimizing the visual appeal and commercial success of products within assigned retail stores. As a Merchandiser, you will be the eyes and ears on the ground, ensuring that products are displayed effectively, promotions are executed flawlessly, and brand standards are consistently met. You will play a critical role in enhancing the customer shopping experience, driving sales, and maintaining strong relationships with store management and staff.
Your day-to-day will involve implementing planograms, setting up promotional displays, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring products are always well-stocked and accessible. Key Responsibilities
- Implement visual merchandising guidelines and planograms to maximize product visibility and appeal.
- Ensure optimal product placement, display, and stock levels across all assigned retail locations.
- Execute promotional activities and seasonal campaigns accurately and on time.
- Conduct regular store visits to monitor display compliance, product freshness, and overall presentation.
- Collaborate with store management and staff to secure prime merchandising space and resolve any display issues.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends, providing valuable feedback to sales and marketing teams.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of product displays and shelving.
- Provide basic product training and guidance to retail staff on new products or promotional initiatives.
- Generate reports on merchandising activities, stock movement, and sales performance.
- Identify opportunities for display improvements and proactive problem-solving to enhance sales.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience in retail merchandising or visual display.
- Strong understanding of visual merchandising principles and retail display techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with store teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple locations.
- Keen eye for detail and a passion for product presentation.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for reporting.
- Problem-solving aptitude and ability to adapt to changing retail environments.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively within West Pokot County.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Sales & Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Familiarity with the consumer goods market in Kenya.
