Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Windows Administrator to join our growing technical team in South Shields. This pivotal full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to manage, maintain, and enhance our Windows server infrastructure and associated services for our valued clients. As a Windows Administrator, you will be instrumental in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of critical systems, working within a dynamic environment that values innovation and proactive problem-solving. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems (2016, 2019, 2022).
  • Manage and troubleshoot Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP services.
  • Administer virtualized environments using VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Implement and manage system security, including patching, antivirus, and firewall configurations.
  • Perform regular backups and data recovery operations.
  • Provide advanced technical support and guidance to end-users and junior IT staff.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for critical system support.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders on projects and initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Windows Server OS (2016, 2019, 2022) administration.
  • Expertise in Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere or Hyper-V).
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VPN, LAN/WAN).
  • Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell) for automation.
  • Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, CompTIA Server+).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
  • Knowledge of storage technologies (SAN, NAS).
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix).
  • Experience in a client-facing IT support or managed services environment.
