Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounting, budgetary control, treasury, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK accounting standards (FRS 102/IFRS).
  • Develop and implement robust internal financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
  • Manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely completion.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance and support to senior management, informing key business decisions and growth initiatives.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and conduct financial forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations (VAT, Corporation Tax) and financial legislation in the UK.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS, or FRS 102).
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero, Sage).
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the UK (visa sponsorship may be considered for exceptional candidates).

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Experience with international financial reporting and cross-border transactions.
  • Familiarity with UK tax legislation (VAT, Corporation Tax).
  • Prior experience working or studying internationally.
  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
