As an Import Export Coordinator, you will navigate the intricate world of international trade, managing all facets of the import and export process. This includes meticulously preparing and scrutinizing shipping documentation such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that all declarations meet stringent customs requirements and international trade regulations. You will serve as the primary point of contact for freight forwarders, customs brokers, and various carriers, orchestrating timely pickups, deliveries, and clearances. Effective communication, primarily in English, will be paramount as you liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to provide status updates, resolve transit issues, and ensure seamless coordination at every stage.

This role demands a keen eye for detail and a comprehensive understanding of Incoterms, customs tariffs, and country-specific import/export requirements. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all transactions, shipments, and associated costs, contributing to our operational efficiency and compliance audits. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all import and export documentation, including customs declarations, invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient shipment processing.
  • Ensure strict compliance with international trade regulations, customs laws, and company policies.
  • Track and monitor the status of all shipments, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Resolve any discrepancies, delays, or issues that arise during the shipping process.
  • Maintain accurate records of all import/export activities, costs, and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and internal departments in English to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Calculate and verify duties, taxes, and other charges related to international shipments.
  • Stay informed about changes in international trade legislation and customs procedures.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in an import/export or similar logistics role.
  • Strong understanding of international trade regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or relevant certification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or International Business.
  • Experience with specific customs software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of specific regional trade agreements or regulations.
  • Additional language skills are a plus, but English fluency is essential.
