Key Responsibilities
- Anchor live and pre-recorded news broadcasts with professionalism and clarity.
- Research, write, and edit news scripts, ensuring accuracy, impartiality, and adherence to journalistic standards.
- Conduct live and pre-recorded interviews with guests, experts, and community members.
- Respond effectively to breaking news, adapting scripts and delivery as events unfold.
- Collaborate with producers, reporters, and technical staff to develop compelling news content.
- Engage with the audience on social media and other digital platforms, representing the station professionally.
- Participate in community events and outreach initiatives to foster local connections.
- Provide voice-overs for news packages and promotional material as required.
- Maintain an awareness of current events, local politics, and community issues in Prince Edward Island.
- Perform studio preparation tasks, including teleprompter setup and script review.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a News Anchor or broadcast journalist.
