Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior buyers in researching market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to identify new product opportunities.
- Support the preparation of product presentations and reports for internal stakeholders.
- Help manage vendor communications, including assisting with order placement and tracking deliveries.
- Participate in product assortment planning meetings, providing input and ideas.
- Conduct preliminary analysis of sales data and inventory levels to inform buying decisions.
- Maintain accurate product information in our internal systems.
- Support the negotiation process with suppliers for favourable terms and pricing.
- Learn and apply best practices in supply chain management and inventory control.
- Collaborate with marketing and visual merchandising teams to ensure product launch success.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (e.g., Business, Marketing, Retail Management).
- Strong interest in retail, fashion, or consumer goods.
- Excellent analytical and research skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
