Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, pallet jack) safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve products and materials.
- Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring accurate counts and proper documentation.
- Transport products to and from various storage areas within the warehouse.
- Perform daily equipment checks and minor maintenance (e.g., battery changes, fluid checks) to ensure operational readiness.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and reconciliation, ensuring accuracy of stock.
- Identify and report any damaged products or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to optimize workflow and achieve operational goals.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator (at least 6 months)
- Valid forklift certification/license (or ability to obtain one)
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and practices
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- Basic math and literacy skills for inventory counting and record-keeping
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various types of forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck, order picker)
- Previous experience in a fast-paced logistics or distribution center environment
- Familiarity with inventory management systems (WMS)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read and understand shipping labels and work orders
