Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional, personalized customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and processing transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Proactively identify customer needs and cross-sell appropriate banking products and services (e.g., savings accounts, loans, credit cards, investment products, digital banking solutions) to help them achieve their financial goals.
- Open new accounts and complete all necessary documentation in strict compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Educate customers on NCB's digital banking platforms, self-service options, and innovative financial tools to empower them.
- Handle all cash and cheque transactions, ensuring proper reconciliation and adherence to security protocols.
- Maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of all NCB products, services, policies, and procedures, staying informed of industry changes.
- Adhere strictly to all banking regulations, compliance standards, and internal controls to mitigate risk and ensure operational integrity.
- Build and maintain strong, lasting customer relationships, fostering loyalty and trust through consistent, high-quality service.
- Collaborate effectively with branch colleagues and other departments to achieve sales targets and enhance overall branch performance and customer experience.
- Escalate complex or sensitive issues to appropriate management or specialized departments when necessary, ensuring timely resolution.
- Maintain a professional, welcoming, and organized branch environment for all customers and staff.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service role, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional, empathetic, and friendly demeanor.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities, with a natural inclination to assist others.
- Proficiency in using banking software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to handle difficult or sensitive customer situations with tact and grace.
- Sound understanding of basic banking principles, financial products, and transactional processes.
- High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and strict adherence to confidentiality and data privacy.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some Saturdays, as required by branch operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a teller, customer service representative, or similar client-facing role in a financial institution.
- Familiarity with local financial regulations and compliance standards in Jamaica.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding customer service and sales targets in previous roles.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., English and Jamaican Patois) is a valuable asset.
