Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense prescribed medications, ensuring proper dosage, labeling, and patient instructions.
  • Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients, explaining proper drug usage, potential side effects, and storage.
  • Review patient profiles to identify and resolve potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient therapy and outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and prescription files in compliance with all federal and state regulations.
  • Participate in inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and organizing pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Handle controlled substances according to strict legal and procedural requirements.
  • Respond to drug information inquiries from patients and healthcare providers.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy.
  • Adhere to all HIPAA regulations, ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality.

Required Skills

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid and active Pharmacist license in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacology, therapeutics, and pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy management software and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and ethical practice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a PGY1 Residency program (or currently enrolled).
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) to serve our diverse community.
  • Active membership in professional pharmacy organizations.
