Key Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications, ensuring proper dosage, labeling, and patient instructions.
- Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients, explaining proper drug usage, potential side effects, and storage.
- Review patient profiles to identify and resolve potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient therapy and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and prescription files in compliance with all federal and state regulations.
- Participate in inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and organizing pharmaceutical supplies.
- Handle controlled substances according to strict legal and procedural requirements.
- Respond to drug information inquiries from patients and healthcare providers.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations, ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid and active Pharmacist license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Strong understanding of pharmacology, therapeutics, and pharmaceutical calculations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and basic computer applications.
