Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Psychiatrist to join our growing team in Westminster Woods, Guelph. This is an exceptional opportunity for a physician passionate about mental health to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to individuals within a dynamic and supportive clinical setting. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including history taking, mental status examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Formulate and implement evidence-based treatment plans, including medication management and various psychotherapy modalities.
- Provide ongoing psychiatric care, monitoring patient progress, adjusting treatments as necessary, and ensuring continuity of care.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
- Participate in case conferences, clinical rounds, and professional development activities.
- Offer crisis intervention and management for patients experiencing acute psychiatric emergencies.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives within the clinic.
Required Skills
- Medical degree (MD) from an accredited institution.
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) in Psychiatry or equivalent board certification.
- Current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) in good standing.
- Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and treating a broad range of mental health conditions.
- Proficiency in psychopharmacology and various psychotherapeutic techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong commitment to patient-centred care and ethical practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Subspecialty certification or focused experience in areas such as child and adolescent psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, or addiction psychiatry.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems specific to mental health.
- Bilingualism (English and French) or proficiency in other languages relevant to the local population.
- Active involvement in professional associations or continuous professional development initiatives.
