Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mergers and Acquisitions Analyst to join our esteemed team in the vibrant heart of Chinatown, Vancouver. This is a full-time opportunity for a professional eager to immerse themselves in complex financial transactions and strategic corporate development. As an M&A Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our senior bankers on a diverse range of M&A advisory engagements, including sell-side and buy-side mandates, corporate divestitures, and strategic reviews across various industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive financial modeling and valuation analysis, including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis (CCA), and precedent transaction analysis (PTA).
  • Perform in-depth industry and company research to identify potential acquisition targets, strategic buyers, and market trends.
  • Assist in the preparation of confidential information memoranda, management presentations, and other marketing materials for M&A transactions.
  • Support due diligence processes by gathering and analyzing financial data, legal documents, and operational information.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to assess potential transaction impacts and scenarios.
  • Collaborate with senior bankers, clients, legal counsel, and other third-party advisors throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Prepare pitch books and proposals for prospective clients, articulating strategic rationales and deal structures.
  • Participate in client meetings, management presentations, and internal team discussions.
  • Stay abreast of market conditions, industry developments, and regulatory changes impacting M&A activity.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related quantitative field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, private equity, or a related M&A advisory role.
  • Exceptional financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and corporate finance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CFA designation or progress towards completion.
  • Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field.
  • Experience with financial databases such as Capital IQ, Bloomberg, or Refinitiv Eikon.
  • Prior experience working on M&A transactions in specific industries relevant to the Vancouver market.
  • Familiarity with various M&A process steps and documentation.
