Key Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one career advising sessions to assess client skills, experience, and career goals.
- Develop personalized career action plans, including job search strategies, resume/cover letter review, and interview coaching.
- Facilitate workshops and group sessions on various career development topics relevant to the Canadian job market.
- Stay updated on labour market trends, industry demands, and immigration policies affecting international job seekers.
- Network with employers, community organizations, and educational institutions to identify potential opportunities for clients.
- Provide guidance on professional licensing, credential recognition, and cultural integration in the Canadian workplace.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting progress and outcomes.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in career counselling, recruitment, or human resources.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong understanding of the Canadian job market and hiring practices.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and empathy.
- Proficiency in using career assessment tools and job search platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Counselling, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience working specifically with international students, immigrants, or newcomers to Canada.
- Proficiency in a second language relevant to a diverse client base (e.g., French, Hindi, Mandarin, Punjabi).
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
