Job Description

ACAS-Law is seeking a diligent, highly organized, and proactive Legal Office Clerk to join our vibrant team in Anthony Village, Lagos. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and organize physical and electronic legal documents, files, and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Maintain an efficient filing system, ensuring quick retrieval of information and compliance with document retention policies.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support, including photocopying, scanning, printing, and binding legal documents.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and court appearances for legal staff, managing calendars effectively.
  • Prepare and format legal documents, reports, and presentations using various software applications.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, couriers, and deliveries, ensuring timely distribution and dispatch.
  • Manage office supplies inventory, placing orders as needed and ensuring the office is well-stocked.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for internal and external communications, directing inquiries appropriately.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client and firm information.
  • Support special projects and other administrative tasks as assigned by legal professionals or management.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in an office administrative or clerical role (minimum 1 year)
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information discreetly
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field
  • Previous experience working in a legal firm or legal department
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and document management systems
  • Knowledge of office equipment operation (scanners, printers, etc.)
