Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Canteen Attendant to join a dynamic school catering team through Career.zycto. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of simple meals and snacks according to established menus and recipes.
  • Serve meals to students and staff efficiently and courteously during designated meal times.
  • Maintain accurate records of food served and inventory levels, reporting shortages to the catering supervisor.
  • Ensure the canteen area, including dining tables, serving counters, and kitchen equipment, is kept clean and hygienic at all times.
  • Operate and clean kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, ovens, and serving utensils safely and effectively.
  • Handle cash and process payments accurately for food items purchased, if required, and manage daily sales records.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP principles.
  • Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, assisting with receiving deliveries and proper storage.
  • Engage positively with students and staff, promoting a friendly and welcoming canteen environment.
  • Assist with setting up and clearing down dining areas before and after meal services.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of food preparation and serving techniques.
