Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of simple meals and snacks according to established menus and recipes.
- Serve meals to students and staff efficiently and courteously during designated meal times.
- Maintain accurate records of food served and inventory levels, reporting shortages to the catering supervisor.
- Ensure the canteen area, including dining tables, serving counters, and kitchen equipment, is kept clean and hygienic at all times.
- Operate and clean kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, ovens, and serving utensils safely and effectively.
- Handle cash and process payments accurately for food items purchased, if required, and manage daily sales records.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP principles.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, assisting with receiving deliveries and proper storage.
- Engage positively with students and staff, promoting a friendly and welcoming canteen environment.
- Assist with setting up and clearing down dining areas before and after meal services.
