Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Human Resources Manager to join our dynamic team in Westfort, Thunder Bay. As our Human Resources Manager, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with our organizational goals and foster a positive, productive work environment. You will lead all HR functions, from talent acquisition and employee relations to performance management and HR policy development. This role requires a proactive leader with a deep understanding of Canadian employment law and best practices, capable of navigating complex HR challenges with diplomacy and strategic insight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage HR policies, programs, and procedures in compliance with Canadian labour laws and regulations.
  • Oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training and development, compensation, and offboarding.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to management and employees on various HR-related matters, including employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Lead talent acquisition strategies, including job posting, screening, interviewing, and selection to attract and retain top talent.
  • Manage and administer employee benefits programs and ensure competitive compensation structures.
  • Facilitate performance appraisal processes and support managers in setting clear objectives and providing constructive feedback.
  • Champion a positive and inclusive workplace culture, promoting employee engagement and well-being initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure data integrity within HR information systems (HRIS).
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in HR, continuously seeking opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist with immigration processes and provide support for international candidates under visa sponsorship, ensuring compliance with IRCC requirements.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
  • Thorough understanding of Canadian employment law (e.g., Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, OHSA).
  • Demonstrated experience in all facets of HR, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, and benefits.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation.
  • Experience working with international hires and familiarity with Canadian immigration processes.
  • Experience in a consulting environment or similar fast-paced industry.
  • Master's degree in Human Resources or related discipline.
