Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Quality Engineer to join our growing team in Minnow Lake, Sudbury. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain quality control systems and procedures to ensure product and process compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analysis for non-conformances and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Develop and execute test plans, inspection criteria, and quality gates to monitor product quality at various stages of production.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to integrate quality principles into product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Perform internal and external audits to assess compliance with ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Analyze quality data, identify trends, and generate reports to communicate quality performance and recommend improvements.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or other quality tools.
  • Ensure all documentation related to quality processes, inspections, and product specifications is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on quality standards and best practices.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure product manufacturability and inspectability from a quality perspective.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
  • 4+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing or technical environment.
  • Strong understanding and application of Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and other quality analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in technical report writing and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • ASQ Certifications (CQE, CSSBB, CMQ/OE).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification a plus).
  • Familiarity with specific industry standards relevant to our products/services (e.g., automotive, aerospace, medical devices).
  • Experience with quality software tools and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
