Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, patient-centred nursing care in accordance with Canadian standards and best practices.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient responses and documenting observations.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and support staff to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and their families on health management, disease prevention, and post-discharge care.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to legal requirements.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning.
  • Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a patient advocate, ensuring patient rights are respected and promoting a safe environment.

Required Skills

  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Demonstrated clinical competency in nursing practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care delivery.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada (e.g., valid work permit or Permanent Resident status).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Canadian healthcare setting is an asset.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Proficiency in a second language, particularly French, an asset due to Sudbury's bilingual population.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Willingness to adapt to new healthcare protocols and technologies.
