Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a passionate and experienced Curriculum Developer to design and implement innovative learning programs specifically tailored for foreign learners. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in crafting engaging, culturally sensitive, and effective educational content that addresses the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals new to a Canadian context. Your work will directly empower our learners to navigate cultural nuances, acquire essential language skills, and achieve professional integration within their new community. We are looking for someone who understands adult learning principles, has a strong grasp of second language acquisition theories, and possesses the creativity to develop diverse instructional materials across various formats, including online modules, workshop plans, and self-study guides.

This position requires a deep empathy for the learner’s journey and a commitment to creating inclusive and accessible educational experiences. You will be responsible for the full curriculum development lifecycle, from needs assessment and instructional design to content creation, pilot testing, and evaluation. Collaboration is key; you will work closely with subject matter experts, language instructors, and cultural advisors to ensure content accuracy and relevance. If you are driven by a desire to foster successful integration and empower global citizens, and you thrive in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment, we encourage you to apply. We offer a supportive workplace where your expertise will be valued, and your contributions will have a profound impact on the lives of our learners.

  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify the specific learning gaps and requirements of foreign learners.
  • Design, develop, and revise comprehensive curriculum and instructional materials, including lesson plans, modules, activities, assessments, and supporting resources.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructors, and external partners to gather content, ensure accuracy, and align curriculum with program objectives.
  • Develop clear learning objectives, content outlines, and detailed instructional strategies for diverse learning modalities (e.g., in-person, blended, online).
  • Create engaging and interactive learning activities that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and practical application of knowledge and skills.
  • Design and implement effective assessment strategies to measure learning outcomes and curriculum efficacy.
  • Pilot test new curriculum components, collect feedback, and iterate designs based on evaluation results.
  • Stay abreast of best practices in curriculum development, instructional design, ESL/EAL education, and cultural integration strategies.
  • Ensure all developed materials adhere to accessibility standards and organizational guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in curriculum development or instructional design.
