Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to the hotel’s recipes, standards, and guest specifications.
- Manage and maintain a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, larder, pastry) ensuring efficiency and high-quality output.
- Ensure consistent high standards of food preparation, presentation, and taste.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory management, and place orders as required to minimise waste and control costs.
- Adhere strictly to all HACCP, food safety, and hygiene regulations, maintaining a clean and organised workstation.
- Collaborate effectively with the Head Chef, Sous Chefs, and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and achieve culinary goals.
- Contribute to menu development and innovation, suggesting new dishes and techniques.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and used safely, reporting any malfunctions immediately.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive learning environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Chef/Cook in a hotel or high-volume restaurant environment.
- Strong culinary skills with a comprehensive knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Excellent understanding and adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP certified preferred).
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen setting.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a positive attitude.
