Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with established standards and policies.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in electronic health records.
  • Educate patients and their families on health management, disease prevention, and post-discharge care.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide immediate first aid or life support as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and ethical standards of nursing practice in British Columbia.

Required Skills

  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent, acute care nursing experience
  • Demonstrated strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and professional ethics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Experience in specialized areas such as Emergency, ICU, or Operating Room
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proficiency in a second language (e.g., Mandarin, Punjabi, Tagalog) relevant to local demographics
