Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with established standards and policies.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
- Collaborate with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in electronic health records.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, disease prevention, and post-discharge care.
- Respond to emergencies and provide immediate first aid or life support as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities.
- Adhere to all regulatory and ethical standards of nursing practice in British Columbia.
Required Skills
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- Minimum 2 years of recent, acute care nursing experience
- Demonstrated strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems
- Commitment to patient-centered care and professional ethics
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience in specialized areas such as Emergency, ICU, or Operating Room
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency in a second language (e.g., Mandarin, Punjabi, Tagalog) relevant to local demographics
