This urgent full-time night shift opening offers a unique opportunity to be the cornerstone of our hotel operations during critical overnight hours, ensuring accuracy and guest satisfaction while maintaining the highest standards of service and security.

As the Hotel Night Auditor, you will be the primary point of contact for guests during the night, providing exceptional customer service, handling late check-ins and early check-outs, and swiftly resolving any overnight inquiries or issues. Beyond guest interaction, a significant portion of your role involves meticulously auditing and reconciling all daily financial transactions from various departments. This includes balancing daily revenue, processing credit card transactions, and preparing comprehensive daily reports for management, providing a clear financial snapshot of the previous day’s activities.

Your responsibilities extend to ensuring the security and safety of the premises and all guests. You’ll be vigilant in monitoring security systems, conducting routine property walks, and responding proactively to any unusual activity. Maintaining a welcoming yet secure atmosphere is paramount. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in the smooth transition between shifts, ensuring all relevant information is clearly communicated to the morning team. This can include preparing continental breakfast setups, assisting with light cleaning, or managing laundry cycles as needed, making the role incredibly diverse and integral to overall hotel functionality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all guest check-in and check-out procedures efficiently and courteously.
  • Accurately audit, balance, post, and close all daily financial transactions, including cash, credit cards, and direct billing.
  • Generate and distribute comprehensive daily reports for management, summarizing financial performance and operational status.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain the security of the hotel premises during night hours through regular patrols and monitoring of surveillance systems.
  • Oversee and respond to safety and security systems, including fire alarms and CCTV, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Prepare the lobby and public areas for the morning shift, including setting up continental breakfast and performing light cleaning duties.
  • Handle reservation inquiries and process future bookings during quiet periods.
  • Complete any additional tasks or projects assigned by management to support overall hotel operations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a customer service or hospitality-related role.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in handling financial transactions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective guest and team interaction.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Property Management Systems (PMS) such as Opera, Fosse, OnQ, or similar.
  • Basic computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Reliable transportation to ensure punctuality for night shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Hotel Night Auditor.
  • Associate's degree or higher in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Fluency in a second language, particularly Spanish or French.
