Key Responsibilities
- Direct and control the movement of aircraft within designated airspace, ensuring safe separation and efficient traffic flow.
- Provide essential information to pilots, including weather updates, runway conditions, and other critical advisories.
- Monitor and interpret radar displays, flight plans, and other air traffic control data.
- Issue clear, concise, and timely instructions to pilots via radio communication.
- Coordinate with adjacent air traffic control units, ground control, and airport operations.
- Manage emergency situations, providing critical assistance and guidance to aircraft in distress.
- Maintain accurate records and logs of air traffic activity.
- Adhere strictly to all national and international aviation regulations and safety protocols.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain licensure and proficiency.
Required Skills
- Valid Air Traffic Controller license/certification (e.g., NAV CANADA ATC license or equivalent).
- Proven experience as an Air Traffic Controller in a busy airspace environment.
- Exceptional spatial awareness and visualization skills.
- Superior communication skills (verbal and written) in English.
- Outstanding decision-making and problem-solving abilities under pressure.
- High level of composure, concentration, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, high-stakes environment.
