Key Responsibilities

  • Perform physical labor at construction sites, including excavation, demolition, and material handling.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of construction tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, electricians, masons, plumbers) as required on various tasks.
  • Load and unload construction materials, ensuring proper storage and site organization.
  • Prepare construction sites by cleaning debris, digging trenches, erecting temporary structures, and ensuring safety barriers are in place.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety procedures, regulations, and company policies on site.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, and specifications as needed to complete tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with the construction team and project managers to ensure timely project completion within budget.
  • Transport various construction materials, tools, and equipment to designated work areas.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment at all times.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Construction Worker or in a similar physical labor role.
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Familiarity with common construction tools and equipment (e.g., power tools, hand tools, measuring devices).
  • Solid understanding of construction site safety guidelines and practices (e.g., PPE, fall protection, hazard identification).
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Basic proficiency in English for effective communication, understanding instructions, and safety briefings.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to different tasks and project requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification in a construction-related trade (e.g., carpentry, concrete finishing).
  • Experience working on diverse construction projects (residential, commercial, infrastructure).
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and schematics.
  • Experience operating heavy machinery (e.g., skid steers, forklifts) with appropriate certification.
