Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and support to individuals with diverse special needs, respecting their dignity, privacy, and choices.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, medication administration (following training and protocol), and household tasks.
- Support individuals in developing and maintaining life skills, promoting independence and self-reliance wherever possible.
- Plan and facilitate engaging social and recreational activities, both within the home and the wider community, to enhance well-being and social inclusion.
- Accompany service users to appointments, day centres, and community outings, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care plans, daily logs, incident reports, and progress notes in line with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with service users, their families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring a cohesive and integrated approach to care.
- Identify and report any changes in a service user's health, behaviour, or well-being to senior staff promptly.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines, safeguarding policies, and CQC regulations to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Participate actively in supervision, team meetings, and continuous professional development training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months experience in a care or support role (professional or voluntary)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and practices
- Basic IT literacy for record-keeping
- Eligibility to work in the UK (with visa sponsorship provided for eligible candidates)
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
- Experience working specifically with individuals with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or physical disabilities
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- First Aid qualification
