Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company vehicle to deliver packages to various destinations in the Departure Bay and greater Nanaimo area.
- Efficiently load and unload packages, ensuring all items are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Plan and optimize delivery routes to meet scheduled delivery times and maximize efficiency.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers, providing exceptional service during each delivery.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including successful deliveries, unsuccessful attempts, and package details.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and communicate any maintenance needs or issues to management.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation applications.
- Must be 19 years of age or older (for insurance purposes).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
- Basic knowledge of the Nanaimo area streets and neighborhoods.
