Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic tests to identify mechanical and electrical issues in various vehicle systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
- Execute complex repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and HVAC systems.
- Inspect vehicles for wear and tear, fluid leaks, and other potential problems.
- Accurately document all services performed and parts used.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding vehicle status and repair recommendations.
- Adhere to all dealership and manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
- Stay current with new automotive technologies and repair methods through ongoing training.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Auto Mechanic, preferably in a dealership setting.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and specialized tools.
- Excellent knowledge of automotive systems and components.
- Ability to perform complex repairs efficiently and accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- ASE certification in at least one area (e.g., A1 Engine Repair, A4 Suspension & Steering).
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or vocational training in automotive technology.
- Multiple ASE certifications (e.g., Master Automobile Technician).
- Experience with specific dealership brands or vehicle types.
- Basic computer proficiency for accessing repair manuals and diagnostic software.
