Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and support to clients during night hours, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Assist clients with personal care needs, including toileting, changing, and mobility assistance, as required throughout the night.
- Administer prescribed medication in accordance with care plans and company policies (training provided if necessary).
- Monitor client's well-being, comfort, and safety continuously, promptly reporting any changes or concerns.
- Respond quickly and effectively to calls for assistance, emergencies, or urgent requests from clients.
- Accurately document all observations, care provided, and any incidents during your shift.
- Offer companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in calming activities if they are awake and willing.
- Perform light household duties relevant to the client's immediate needs, ensuring a tidy and supportive environment.
- Adhere strictly to all safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection protocols.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a care setting, preferably with some night shift exposure (minimum 6 months).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport.
- Exceptional patience, empathy, and a genuinely compassionate nature.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and make sound judgments in challenging situations.
- Outstanding reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
