Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Support clients with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure comfort and safety.
- Administer medication reminders as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including tidying living areas, laundry, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities, fostering mental and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and report any changes in client's health status, behavior, or living conditions to the care supervisor.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided and client observations.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols, company policies, and care plans.
- Assist clients with appointments and errands, ensuring safe transportation if required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Home Health Aide, Caregiver, or similar role.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English.
- Understanding of basic hygiene and infection control principles.
- Physical ability to assist clients with mobility and perform light household tasks.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly organized with strong time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while following a structured care plan.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certification in Home Health Aide, Caregiving, or Nursing Assistant (e.g., SVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care).
- Experience working with diverse client populations, including elderly and individuals with disabilities.
- Valid UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Knowledge of local community resources in Edinburgh for client referral.
