As a vital member of our transportation network, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of a diverse range of goods, operating state-of-the-art commercial vehicles. Your daily routine will involve meticulous pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, ensuring strict compliance with all provincial and federal transportation regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) rules and weight restrictions. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate an unyielding commitment to road safety, possess excellent navigational skills, and can accurately maintain logbooks and delivery documentation, often utilizing electronic logging devices (ELDs). Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Load, unload, and secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, manifests, and other required documentation, including Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues.
- Perform minor mechanical repairs or maintenance as needed on the road.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all provincial and federal transportation regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) rules.
- Represent Career.zycto professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 1 (or equivalent) Commercial Driver's License.
- Clean driving abstract/record.
- Minimum 3 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations (HOS, weights, safety standards).
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading, unloading, and securing cargo.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various types of cargo (e.g., flatbed, reefer, dry van).
- Experience operating in Canadian weather conditions.
- Forklift operation certification.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Proficiency with modern navigation and communication systems.
