Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures in residential, commercial, and industrial structures.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
- Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
- Measure, cut, bend, and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines.
- Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
- Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
- Repair and replace worn out or defective plumbing parts and fixtures.
- Install and maintain water treatment equipment, water heaters, and other appliances.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, Canadian building codes, and industry regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service and clear communication on project status and solutions.
Required Skills
- Journeyman Plumber certification/licence or equivalent recognized international credential.
- Minimum of 4 years of post-apprenticeship plumbing experience.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and plumbing codes.
- Strong knowledge of residential and commercial plumbing systems.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with gas fitting or cross-connection control.
- Familiarity with Alberta Building Codes and safety regulations.
- Experience with modern plumbing technologies and sustainable practices.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Bilingualism (English and other languages relevant to the local community).
