Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiorespiratory assessments to diagnose conditions and determine patient needs.
- Develop and implement individualized physiotherapy treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals, utilizing a range of therapeutic techniques.
- Provide hands-on manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, electrophysical modalities, and patient education on injury prevention and self-management strategies.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and ensure timely and accurate documentation of all clinical activities.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, occupational therapists, and other specialists, to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and home exercise programs to promote long-term recovery and independence.
- Adhere strictly to professional standards, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements set forth by the College of Physical Therapists of Alberta (CPTA) and other relevant bodies.
- Actively participate in continuous professional development and training to stay abreast of the latest advancements in physiotherapy practice.
Required Skills
- Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Physical Therapists of Alberta (CPTA).
- Minimum of 2 years of post-registration clinical experience as a Physiotherapist.
- Demonstrated expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plan development.
- Proficiency in manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise prescription, and pain management strategies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a diverse range of clinical settings (e.g., private practice, hospital, community health).
- Specialization or advanced certifications in areas such as sports physiotherapy, neurological rehabilitation, or women's health.
- Experience working with international patient populations or in multicultural environments.
- Familiarity with Canadian healthcare system practices and documentation standards.
- Additional language proficiency is considered an asset.
